Changes to the Courage to Create

Published 5 months agoΒ β€’Β 2 min read

We're making some changes to the Courage to Create in 2024.

Hi Reader,

It's been a wonderful season at the Courage to Create, with brilliant guests like Tamar Rydzinski and Monica Rodriguez of Context Literary; Jyoti Rajan Gopal and Wendi Gu in conversation about Desert Queen; and Roseanne Wells and Kelly Bergh of Lucinda Literary. Plus, we've shared lots of deep and ah-ha! moments in our Literary Life sessions: Self-Compassion for Creatives with Nadine Pinede, the Queries and First Pages Clinic with Bethany Hegedus, and more. And even more is a-coming!

We're so glad you're a part of the community, and we're always here to help you make the most of your membership.

πŸ‘‰ Tips & Tricks to Make the Most of Your CTC Membership

Over at The Writing Barn, we announced some BIG, exciting changes coming in 2024. You can take a look at that email here.

And because the Courage to Create serves many of the same writers (and both are the creation of Bethany Hegedus), there will be some changes within the community next year, too.

What to Expect in 2024

Goodbye, cycles! Hello, evergreen.

We'll be moving to an ongoing enrollment structure where members can join at any time, versus the biannual enrollments we've done in the past. So your friends can join us at any timeβ€”not just twice a year!

And along with annual and six-month memberships, we will have a MONTHLY membership option. Monthly memberships will be the most expensive option, but they do come with the ability to cancel your membership at any time. All memberships will renew automatically. (Current members, this happens at your next purchase.)

But what about you and your preexisting membership? Current CTC memberships will be honored through the duration paid (February of 2024 or September of 2024); after your 6-month or annual membership has expired, you'll have the option to continue with the new membership structure.

Replays will be organized by month rather than by cycle (ex: instead of a Spring 2024 replays area, you'll see January 2024, February 2024, and so on). Up to 12 months of replays will be stored in the CTC Hub at a time.

What about those unlimited replays? Don't worry! Current CTC members who were part of the 6-month cycle structure will still have access to replays from past cycles via private links on Vimeo. Those links will be provided via email at the end of 2023, and you'll get a reminder at the start of 2024 that replays are moving.

Submission opportunities will continue to be available in the Overview tab of each replay area.

*Membership rates are subject to change annually, and annual submissions will always be the most cost effective.

So, that's it for now! Keep an eye out for more emails from us, including:

  • Your regular Sunday round-up newsletter
  • Reminders on when your membership is expiring and how to switch to the new enrollment structure
  • Information on how to access replays once they're removed from the Hub

See you on the Hub!
